Have a think...

What does peace feel like?

Do you have a peaceful place?

Why is peace between nations important?

What does Remembrance Day teach us about peace?

What does the first Christmas teach us about peace?

In the Bible we learn that we can find peace when we turn to God.

At this time of year two events remind us about peace.

The first is Remembrance Day.

On Remembrance Day - the 11th November - we hold a 2 minute silence at 11am to remember all of the soldiers who have fought and lost their lives so that we can live freely and in peace.

People wear poppies as a symbol of remembrance.

You will be able to purchase poppy items at school at the beginning of November.

The money goes to The Royal British Legion who provide lifelong support to serving and ex-serving military personnel and their families.

The second event that reminds us about the importance of peace is Christmas (25th December).

Christians believe that God sent Hid son Jesus to the world as a helpless baby on the very first Christmas.

Jesus wasn't just a helpless baby though.

In the Bible, Jesus is described as being the 'prince of peace'.

He taught us how we should live our lives trusting in God and how we should treat each other with love, kindness and peace.
